reposoundtrackLadies and Gentlemen, welcome to the show. “Repo! The Genetic Opera Soundtrack is not just a movie, it is an event and with the release of the soundtrack on September 30, 2008 it has become a worldwide phenomenon.

First of all this is not your typical musical. Director Darren Lynn Bousman (best known for his work in the Saw films), along with writer’s Terrance Zdunich and Darren Smith have seen to that. The soundtrack mixes Goth/Industrial music with Opera and a hint of Punk Rock. This is not your parent’s opera.

What makes this soundtrack truly fantastic is that all of the actors performed their own songs. The actors in this film are as diverse as the soundtrack itself. Repo! The Genetic Opera stars Anthony Stewart Head (Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Paul Sorvino, Sarah Brightman (Phantom of the Opera), Alexa Vega, Bill Moseley, Nivek Ogre (Skinny Puppy), and Paris Hilton. The music was provided by an all-star line-up that features performances from Richard Patrick (Filter), Steven Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Clown (Slipknot), Ray Luzier (Army of Anyone), Brian Young (David Lee Roth‘s band), Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses), Sonny Moore (From First to Last), David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets), Daniel Ash (Love & Rockets), Blasko (Ozzy Osborne), Tommy Clefetus (Rob Zombie‘s band), and Melora Creager (Rasputina). Also lending her voice to the soundtrack is pop star Poe. Japanese musician and composer Yoshiki Haysahi (of the legendary rock band X-Japan) co-produced the music with Joe Bishara to create one of the most incredible soundtracks in movie history.

Memorable tracks include the opening “At The Opera Tonight“, “Things You See In A Graveyard“, “Infected“, “Zydrate Anatomy“, “Seventeen“, and the duet, “I Didn’t Know I’d Love You So Much“. The soundtrack contains 22 songs from the movie, but if you need a little more Repo! in your life an extended soundtrack with an additional 17 songs will be available on February 17, 2009.Repo! the Genetic Opera soundtrack” is one event you don’t want to miss.
