Here’s an odd one.
Yesterday, Serj Tankian posted the below video on YouTube, linked it from his Twitter account and left us with some questions.
Questions like; what the fuck is with the inflatable Batman? What the hell is he talking about? And is that clip a new solo Tankian song or have System of a Down come up with a new tune?
SOAD went on hiatus in 2006 during which time, Tankian released two solo albums and a live disc but late last year the group announced they would reunite for a tour which the first leg, if you will, recently wrapped up (there are four South American dates scheduled in early October). They never indicated whether any new material was forthcoming and nothing new has emerged during the live shows.
Personally, I think this is a solo Serj song. Just before SOAD announced their reunion he had been talking about starting to write for his third album and to me, that song sounds very much like Serj. Just my opinion.
