So, the dust has settled. The rumours were kinda true. Paul McCartney took to the stage at MSG last night for the 12.12.12 Concert for Hurricane Sandy Relief and he did in fact play with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear. According to McCartney, he did in fact jam with the three recently and only realized he was jamming with the surviving members of Nirvana halfway into the session. It just wasn’t a Nirvana song, so I’m going to go ahead and say that this was not really a Nirvana reunion. In my books, in order for it to qualify as one, they would’ve had to have played a Nirvana track.
Paul is old. Mind you, Krist is looking pretty aged as well.
Grohl is simply put, a beast on the kit and as Calgary radio personality James “Newsboy” Callsen stated on facebook last night after the performance, “…I like you best when you play the drums. Can you do that more often?” Can’t say that I blame James.
